Students all over the world have nearly lost a school year due to Covid-19. Virtual School is not the same as in-person school.
According to a study from Brookings Institution in Washington DC, compared to 2019, in 2020 students may be substantially behind in their learning gains especially in mathematics. In specific, in lower grades, they may be behind a full year.
Ref:www.brookings.edu TNF is helping to bridge the gap with Special Coaching Classes. From August 2019 to-date TNF Special Coaching Classes have been conducted in 56 schools in 12 districts, benefiting 1117 students. Many of the schools are in rural areas where internet connectivity is sparse.
TAYMAI GRANTS ( Tamil Youth Making an Impact)
How can your child get involved in helping the underserved children in Tamil Nadu?
Have him or her apply for the TNF TAYMAI Grant! Every year TNF grants three awards to winning proposals, selected based on their merits to improve the lives of the children in Tamil Nadu! It could be awarded to your child this year!

The TAYMAI grant is also open to all the previous TNF Summer interns. For those previous interns, even if you don’t have a specific project you would like to propose, the youth committee is attempting to create a think tank, or an organized pool of ideas/projects, on how to help the ABC schools.
