ABC projects launched in five additional districts
|
During the month, TNF increased the number of districts where its ABC projects are implemented to 24, by adding five more districts. With these new additions, TNF supports 87 schools. Thanks to generous donors who help extend and expand our services across Tamil Nadu.
The list of new districts and the project details are as follows:
1. Thiruvannamalai District
ABC project commenced in Government Higher Secondnary School, Vadailuppai on November 1st 2021. 106 students from 10th grade will be benefitted by the program.
2. Kancheepuram District
Soft skills training was held at Government High School, Kunnam benefitting 37 students from the 10th grade.
3. Theni District
ABC project was initated at Government Higher Secondary School, T. Subbulapuram.
4. Dharmapuri District
ABC project was launched at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Pennagaram by appointing two ABC teachers.
5. Krishnagiri District
Three schools were introduced to TNF's ABC project where baseline tests are under-way to identify the number of academically low-achievers(slow learners), who needs support. The schools are
- Government Model Higher Secondary School, Hosur
- Government Higher Secondary School, Mullai Nagar
- RV Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Hosur.

Baseline tests for classes 6 to 9 are on-going, despite the heavy rains, as the logistics permit. A total of 782 students from 6th grade to 9th grade have taken the test in 14 schools across 6 districts so far.
During the month, soft skills training was conducted at 6 schools benefitting 469 students across six districts.

Covid 19 impacted children receive scholarships
TNF distributed ₹ 1,30,000/- to seven orphaned children due to Covid 19 pandemic in Ariyalur, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Thiruvarur & Thanjavur districts.
As part of ongoing Covid 19 support relief, TNF has setup scholarship fund to support children who lost both of their parents due to the pandemic.

TNF NEET Coaching beneficiary qualifies
M Abhinaya of Government School at Nagapattinam district, who attended TNF's online NEET entrance coaching scored 330 marks out of 720 and stands an opportunity to be admitted into a medical college.
TNF, on behalf of its supporters congratulates Abhinaya for getting qualified in the NEET entrance examination.
