R. Shanmugavel, a student from a rural village in Sivagangai district, received a scholarship* last year from TNF to continue his higher secondary education. We are happy to report that he ranked 2nd in all of Tamil Nadu and received admission to one of the top Engineering colleges. The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu presented him with the admission letter on September 20th, 2021. Watch the video to see how TNF changes lives.

During the month, 75 students received scholarships totaling an amount of
Rs. 9,52,000. 

TNF Youth & Young Professionals Committee successfully organized TNF’s first-ever Summer Essay Contest! The contest was well received by students in all categories (High School, Middle School and Elementary School). The committee was impressed by the participation, quality of essays and the enthusiasm demonstrated by our youngsters. The committee has also offered to provide personal feedback to all upper middle school and high school participants, as a way to help them train for college essays.
 
Kudos and Congratulations to Ishita Mannar, a 10th grader from Cleveland, OH who ideated the concept as a way to educate youngsters about the value of giving back to the community, our ancestral connections and the efforts of TNF.
