Join hands with TNF to help school children get nutritioned
|
Soon after we launched the nutritional campaign, there were media news about a morning breakfast initiative by Government of Tamil Nadu. Based on what we have learnt, the program launched by the Government serves elementary School children at this time. TNF's program initial focus is on High School students. We will continue to monitor the situation and will evaluate the need of our program.
However, the good news is, the Government's initiative confirms the need for nutritious breakfast for the School going children in Tamil Nadu and TNF is proud to fill the gap with the support of donors like you.

- ABC Classes are in progress in 81 schools across 26 districts benefitting 5062 students.
- A total of 118 qualified teachers supported by TNF coach slow learners in their respective schools to get them at par with regular students.
- The two day soft skills training for students appearing in public examinations were conducted in 36 ABC schools benefitting 2693 students since April 2022. The training focused on social and emotional resilience since the pandemic.

Corporate Social Responsibility funds benefit ABC Schools
|
REPCO Home Finance Ltd., approved a proposal for Rs. 30 lakhs to support three ABC Schools in Ranipet district. These schools include, Government High School at Anavarthikanpet, Government Boys Higher Secondary School at Guruvarajapet and Government ADW High School at Elathur. The initial funds released are being used to purchase computers, computer tables , smart board, projectors and benches/desks for students.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is continuing commitment by businesses to integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations. If you are aware of a Corporate that could be a potential Corporate supporter of TNF initiatives in India, we would love to hear from you.

TNF signs MOU with Bharathiyar University
|
|
Chief Executive Officer, TNF and the Registrar, Bharathiyar University signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of Chairman, TNF and the Vice-Chancellor, Bharathiyar University. The MoU is signed to promote activities for slow learners, providing career guidance, counseling and evaluation to ABC beneficiaries. The Dean i/c, College Development Council-BU, Professor & Head, Department of Social Welfare and Professor & Head, Department of Extension and Career Guidance were present during the occasion.

Congratulations to TNF's 2nd Summer Essay Contest Winners
|
The Youth & Young Professionals Committee (YYP) successfully concluded the 2nd Youth Summer Essay Contest 2022. YYP Chairperson Arun Periakaruppan along with YYP members Anu Suppiah and Priya Periakaruppan organized the contest. Ideated in 2021 by a High School volunteer, the contest's goal is to provide an opportunity for young kids to learn about TNF's cause. The uniqueness of the contest is, our YYP committee members provide a personalized feedback to all the participants from a college essay preparation perspective.
Every essay brought a unique perspective with their own merits and it was a challenge for the team to choose the winners. Kudos to all the participants! Congratulations to the winners!

Walk & Fun games filled TNF chapter events in September
|
TNF Philadelphia hosted a Walkathon fundraiser on Sept 10th. The blue skies complemented with a warm weather helped more than 100 patrons walk for TNF's cause. The event included delicious lunch, Mehendi stall and presentation by TNF youth.
The icing on the cake was a cake cutting by senior members to mark the successful completion of Phase 1 of building the Mann Vaasanai corpus fund for Sivagangai district.

The revived TNF North East Ohio chapter joined hands with local Tamil Sangam (North East Ohio Tamil Sangam) to host a fun-filled picnic that was attended more than 100 people. The TNF Youth LOVES group shared their experiences being part of TNF and making a difference in their own ways. The event was filled with delicious food and games/activities led by TNF volunteers.
