Serving as the TNF Joint Secretary, Meena Natesan has always been very passionate in helping & serving her community. She has held various board positions in the local school district, and is also an active fundraising volunteer at the local temple. She has organized and led many virtual and in-person fundraising events, including charity auctions and galas. She has been involved with TNF for the past 8 years and currently serves as the Chairperson for the Bay Area chapter. She also started and running the Youth Online Exchange Program (YOX), in the Bay Area, supporting the children of Anvarthikanpet in Tamil Nadu.

She believes in engaging the youth in TNF’s mission, and has initiated various chapter events to do so. In addition to working full time as a clinical dietitian, she loves to listen to Carnatic music and watch basketball in her free time. Go Warriors!

TNF flood relief at Thoothukudi reaches people & cattle
|
Soon after cyclone Michaung impacted Chennai, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu districts badly, heavy rains impacted Thoothukudi district. TNF swung into action to distribute flood relief materials to 1590 families consisting of dry provision, bedsheets and towel.
As the need arose in Thoothukudi district, 500 single burner stoves and 500 MT of dry cattle feed to the families affected by floods were distributed in Alwarthirunagari.

Correct, ABC students are no exception when it comes to doing hard work and not able to play.
PT4U project aims to help ABC students get active through physical education, thus reducing stress and improve fitness/mental health. As part of the project, sports material were distributed to students of S.C.G Higher Secondary School, Amaravathypudur, Sivagangai district.

10th graders receive exam preparation study materials
|
|
|
A total of 122 students across 3 ABC schools in Cuddalore district, who are getting ready for their 10th standard public examination benefit from Chicago chapter's support in providing a printed copy of exam preparation material. The content was published by Department of Education on its website for student's benefit, but these students don't have access to internet.

Essay writing, Elocution & Sports competitions held
|
|
Students of two schools, namely, SSN Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Kommadikottai & Government Higher Secondary School, Kombankulam in Thoothukudi district participated in several competitions ranging from Kabadi, Volley ball to Elocution and Essay writing. These events were supported under PSK Rajarathnam Memorial Educational project. Mr Jeyaprakash, a family member of the donor family distributed the prizes to the first three place winners. A total of 116 students received participation certificates.

Bay Area youth reaches beyond zoom
|

Shreya Viswanathan, an ardent YOX (Youth Online eXchange) volunteer has expanded her efforts to make a difference beyond the zoom sessions where she engaged in helping ABC students develop English language skills and soft skills. During her visit to Anvarthikhanpet School in December 2022, she met the students in-person when she discovered the students' pressing needs such as lack of pure drinking water and insufficient toilet facilities.

Upon returning home, Shreya was determined to change what she saw for good. As part of Youth LOVES program's Serve with Skills, Shreya leveraged her Solo Dance Debut (Bharatanatyam Arangetram) to raise $4684 from her guests in lieu of gifts that she directed towards enhancing the School's infrastructure.
The TNF USA Board along with Youth & Young Professional committee congratulates Shreya for stepping up and making a difference voluntarily. She hopes to continue her efforts with an ongoing initiative to support underprivileged students across the world by creating a positive change through education.
