Dear TNF Family,
As we near the close of another remarkable year, I am filled with gratitude for what we have accomplished together — as volunteers, donors, and chapters united by a shared purpose.
This is also the season of reflection and giving. I invite each of you to consider making a year-end contribution to TNF. Your generosity enables us to continue empowering the underprivileged through education, health, and rural development across Tamil Nadu.
Tamil history, culture, and language have shaped who we are — people grounded in compassion, community, and the spirit of giving. The timeless words யாதும் ஊரே யாவரும் கேளிர் remind us that all people are kin, and it is our duty to uplift one another. I draw strength from these literary treasures and constantly remind myself of the good we need to do.
“செல்வத்துப் பயனே ஈதல்” (புறநானூறு 189)
The true purpose of wealth is to give.
"வறியார்க்கொன்று ஈவதே ஈகை” (திருக்குறள் 221)
True generosity is giving to those in need.
Let these timeless words inspire all of us to give with purpose and compassion.
As we celebrate this season of gratitude, I also want to highlight Giving Tuesday (December 2nd), a global day of generosity. Many employers and platforms offer matching programs, which means your contribution to TNF could be doubled or even tripled. It’s a simple way to amplify your support and make an even greater impact.
Let us remember that true giving is not measured by the amount we give, but by the difference we make together.
Warm wishes for a meaningful and joyful holiday season,
Mani Periakaruppan
President, Tamil Nadu Foundation USA

Steps to Success - a TAYMAI initiative
|
|
|
During her 2024 summer internship in South Florida, Samyuktha Selvam noticed something many of us may have overlooked: numerous students were coming to school without any footwear. Motivated to help, she submitted a proposal and secured the TNF’s TAYMAI grant of $1,000 to purchase shoes for these students. She named the initiative “Steps to Success” and went on to raise additional funds to expand the effort. The students who received the footwear were deeply grateful and often overwhelmed by the support.

TNF52 officially kicked off in Detroit this month with two wonderful events! Volunteers and well-wishers from across the Greater Detroit area gathered to learn about the goals of the upcoming convention and the impact our community can create by coming together.
During the first kickoff, several TNF board members attended, and TNF President Mani Periyakaruppan shared an inspiring overview of TNF’s mission and journey. At the second event, attendees had the special opportunity to hear TNF’s story from Mrs. Vadivu Perumalsamy, wife of founder Dr. Perumalsamy, offering a heartfelt perspective on TNF’s origins.
Supporters at both events pledged donations toward the convention, helping set a strong foundation for TNF52.
We look forward to welcoming you all to Detroit in May 2026. Stay tuned for more updates!

Dallas responds to NC Youth's call for help
|
|
When Hurricane Helene displaced hundreds in Asheville, NC—just weeks after impacting Florida last year—the youth of TNF NC immediately called for action. Soon, youth LOVES volunteers across the country joined in, brainstorming ways they could help. Ideas ranged from hosting an online talent show to organizing local initiatives.
Although their larger plans couldn’t materialize due to time and logistical constraints, their fundraising website gained attention. Along with several individual donations, the Dallas Chapter stepped forward with a generous contribution of $7,000.
The youth initially hoped to participate directly in relief efforts, but soon learned that the region had already moved into the recovery phase, leaving limited opportunities for hands-on involvement. The TNF Board then reached out to organizations leading recovery efforts on the ground and selected All Hands & Hearts as the beneficiary of the funds.
The donation will support the rebuilding of homes in western North Carolina, an area severely affected by the double-barreled hurricane.
On behalf of the Youth LOVES volunteers, a big thanks to TNF Dallas patrons and other well wishers from across the country who responded to the call.

In 2023, the devastating Hawaii fires shook the world. Thanks to the generosity of TNF donors, the Tamil Nadu Foundation was able to extend a small but meaningful helping hand to the Hawaii Community Foundation. We are heartened to hear and share with you that, this holiday season, many families are finally able to return to their homes and children are settling back into their permanent classrooms.
Here is a video clip shared by the foundation.

Congratulations to the teams Pulingo and South Tigers for earning the champion and runner-up titles!
A huge shout-out to our dedicated volunteers—Canice, Jovan, Mahithi, Riya, Evan, Samuel, Rachel, Jaivant, and Aditya—for making the event possible. Our sincere thanks to Genesis Health at Home for sponsoring the tournament and to photographer Raj Chintakindi for capturing the day.
And of course, thank you to all the teams who competed with true sportsmanship and to the community members whose support helped extend kindness far beyond the court.
