President's Remarks

Dear TNF Family,

As we move into the final stretch of the year, I’m pleased to share that we have started making strong progress under TNF PRISM — our initiative to Propel, Revamp, Innovate, Streamline, and Modernize TNF’s operations.

The first milestone in this effort is the successful rollout of the Salesforce Reimbursement Module. This important step helps streamline and automate one of our key administrative functions — expense reimbursements. With this new system, reimbursements from chapter events and individuals are now fully automated, verified, and securely stored for audit purposes, reflecting our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficiency.

This marks just the beginning of our PRISM journey, as we continue to modernize TNF’s processes to better serve our members, chapters, and the communities we support.

Warm regards,
Mani Periakaruppan
President, Tamil Nadu Foundation USA

Austin's vibrant 5k breaks past records

The Austin Chapter hosted its 7th Annual 5K event, marking its biggest celebration yet with over 350 enthusiastic participants. The day began with an energetic 5K run and concluded on a high note with a lively medley performance by Min Mini kids from the Austin Tamil School.

The event radiated community spirit, with youth volunteers taking the lead at various stations — from refreshments and art corners to TNF information booths. Middle and elementary school students also joined hands, making the event a true multi-generational effort.

A special highlight was the Kambang Koozh corner, which drew more than 70 visitors and received rave reviews for its traditional flavors. The art and refreshment sales raised $245 in youth-led fundraising, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and dedication.

Organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers, parents, and participants for their unwavering support. The event stood as a joyful testament to youth leadership, cultural pride, and community togetherness — proving once again that when passion meets purpose, great things happen.

Kudos to the youth volunteers Joan, Judith, Aditya, Annamalai, Arun Jr, Shivani, Shibany, Janani and Raghav. It was indeed a great sight to see GenZ and Alpha generation enjoying the Kambang Koozh.

Triple Treat for South FL Patrons

The past few months have been a remarkable period of growth and accomplishment for the South Florida Chapter. For the first time in our chapter’s history, we successfully organized two major back-to-back events within a single month, both receiving outstanding support from our community.

The first event, Sportsfest, brought together more than 400 enthusiastic participants who competed across multiple games and activities. The event not only promoted teamwork and camaraderie but also strengthened community spirit among members and supporters.

Soon after, the Village Virundhu event, featuring the popular Village Cooking Channel team, captivated attendees with a live cooking showcase. The event raised valuable funds for TNF’s Nutritional Supplement Project, which provides essential nourishment to children in Tamil Nadu, improving their overall health and well-being.

Continuing the momentum, the chapter hosted the Interactive Debate Show with Gopinath, an engaging and thought-provoking evening. The event successfully raised funds for TNF’s Women Empowerment Project, supporting skill development and hygiene initiatives for women in need.

Together, these events marked a major milestone for the South Florida Chapter, demonstrating the power of collaboration, commitment, and compassion. The funds raised will make a lasting impact by advancing TNF’s mission to transform lives through education, nutrition, and empowerment.

WI Youth NxGen Empowers Tomorrow's Innovators

The Tamil Nadu Foundation Wisconsin Chapter successfully hosted the NXGEN Youth Conference 2025 at Brookfield Christian School, bringing together over 50 bright young minds for a dynamic day of learning, leadership, and innovation.

The conference featured engaging expert sessions on entrepreneurship, quantum computing, chip design, and artificial intelligence, encouraging students to explore emerging technologies and real-world applications. A highlight of the event was the Youth Innovation Competition, where participants presented impactful ideas in finance, entrepreneurship, and cybersecurity, earning praise from judges and attendees alike.

Guided by the theme For the Youth, By the Youth, the conference showcased the power of collaboration, creativity, and purpose-driven leadership. TNF mentors, volunteers, and parents played an integral role in its success.

The TNF–WI board extends a heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Anbu Madankumar (Anbu Sports Club – venue sponsor), Mr. Sivapunniyam Dakshinamurthy (CEO, Signatech), Mr. Gopinath Dakshinamurthy (Assistant Director, Northwestern Mutual), Mr. Peter Landis (Principal Engineer, Northwestern Mutual), Mr. Lewis Snyder (Lead Engineer, Northwestern Mutual), Mr. Ashok Kaveri Murugavel (Director, Intel), Mr. Prathmesh Konda Gopinath (UW Madison College of Engineering, Madison), and all the youth and adult volunteers who made the event a resounding success.
