President's Remarks - Embracing Change. Strengthening Our Mission .
|
Dear TNF Family,
Vanakkam!
Change is constant in every organization, and TNF is no exception. This month marks an important transition in our Chennai office. After more than eight years of dedicated leadership, Dr. K. Ilango has completed his tenure as CEO, and Mrs. Kavitha Suresh has assumed responsibility as CEO . We are grateful to Dr. Ilango for his many years of service and contributions to TNF, and we welcome Mrs. Kavitha as she leads our Chennai team into its next chapter.
This transition also comes at a time when we are strengthening how TNF operates, connects, and communicates. Through TNF PRISM , we are modernizing how we operate. Through My TNF , we are working toward a more personal and transparent relationship with our members, donors, and supporters. We are changing how we communicate — moving beyond simply reporting activities and numbers to telling the human stories behind them. And through One TNF , we are strengthening how our chapters, Board, trustees, Chennai team, vo partners work together as one organization serving one mission. lunteers, and
These changes are about preparing TNF for the future and becoming better at fulfilling our mission. In the coming years, you will see TNF embrace technology where it makes us more effective, communicate in ways that bring our impact closer to you, strength en transparency and accountability, and continually look for better ways to serve.
Yet even as we change how we work, some things should never change: our values, our integrity, our commitment to those we serve, and the trust you place in us. The TNF of tomorrow will build upon the TNF of today — not by changing our mission, but by becoming better at fulfilling it. We are not changing what TNF stands for. We are changing how effectively we deliver on that promise .
With gratitude,
Mani Periakaruppan

t is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Gopalsamy “Paul” Manoharan , one of the founding members of the Tamil Nadu Foundation’s Pittsburgh Chapter and a dedicated member of the TNF family for more than four decades.
Paul, 89, of Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 3, 2026 . He was a pillar of the TNF Pittsburgh Chapter and contributed generously to TNF in many ways over the years. During the TNF Conventions hosted by Pittsburgh in 1997 and 2008, he graciously opened his office to TNF volunteers, providing a place from which they could make calls and coordinate outreach to members and supporters.
Paul, together with his wife, Mani Manoharan, was also among the early supporters of TNF’s ABC Project. They sponsored a school in Coimbatore District and continued their support for many years, helping TNF expand educational opportunities for children in underserved communities.
Paul’s decades of quiet service, generosity, and commitment to TNF will be remembered with deep gratitude. On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Foundation, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Manoharan family.
