As we step into 2023, I urge all of you to continue your support to TNF and help make a difference in our mother land. As you may be aware, the funds raised from our 48th Convention at Dallas have been deposited in the corpus funds. I am humbled to share with you all that every district's corpus fund has at least ₹ 31 lakhs. This is a great achievement for our organization and my heartfelt thanks to Dallas Chapter who made it happen and all the donors who supported their efforts. Provision of Breakfast to Goverment School Students
|
Around 200 students attending Arignar Anna Government Higher Secondary School will benefit from the breakfast program launched by TNF Chennai. These students will not have to start their day with hunger anymore. Local donors came forward to support the pilot project that we hope will encourage students to focus on studies and participate in the classes actively.
The program was launched on January 19th 2023 by Thiru S Rajarethinam, IAS, Chairman TNF India in the presence of Dr Ka Ilango, CEO, TNF India, Thiru Arulmudi, Trustee TNF India and other well wishers.

ABC Project - January 2023 Updates
|
- Low Academic Achievers Coaching Classes The program for the academic year 2022-23 began June 2022 and will run through May 2023. The program benefits a total of 5431 slow learners across 89 schools identified from a total of 18,929 students using baseline tests. A total of 127 teachers are coaching the students to get at par with regular students in their academic abilities. After evaluating students in monthly tests, 24 students have been moved to regular classes as of Nov 2022.
- Soft Skills Training Since April 2022, a total of 5999 students from 73 schools across 25 districts have participated in the soft skills training aimed to prepare them for the post-School world. Planning to host the program in remaining ABC schools are in progress.
- Career Guidance Program/Exposure Visit In-School exposure Visits were organized for students attending 11th and 12th grades attended by Senior faculty from nearby colleges. The faculty members educated students on course/degree choices, scholarships and the facilities in their college. The latest programs were supported by faculty from Bharathi Nikethan Engineering College in Theni, Pee Tee Lee Chengalvarayan Engineering and Polytechnic College in Kancheepuram and P.S.R Educational institutions in Tenkasi.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award - 2023 registration is open

TNF is a certifying organization to recognize volunteers. More than ten youngsters across three chapters spent hours volunteering in TNF activities and in their local community and qualify to receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our former president and friend, Dr. Deivanayagam. He had been an ardent supporter of TNF and its causes for several decades. Hailing from Vannarpettai, Tirunelveli, Dr. Deivanayagam Subramaniam, P.E., worked as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, College of Engineering, Professor of Industrial Engineering, Emeritus. Ph.D., Texas Tech University, for nearly 3 decades.
In 2001, Dr. Deivanayagam was awarded the ‘Brown-Henderson Award’, for his outstanding performance in teaching and research.
He served TNF in many capacities including as President and was involved in the implementation of various welfare activities in numerous villages in Tamil Nadu.
