We would like to extend a special thank you to the founders and past leaders of TNF, whose vision and groundwork have paved the way for our continued success. Brahashitha Gupta, a resident of NY for the past 25 years hails from Salem. She is married to Surendra Gupta and is blessed with two sons, Aagarshan, an US Naval Officer & Achintyaa, a rising College freshman. Braha is a Gold medalist at Avinashilingam University, double majoring in Quantitative Techniques & Economics. She has held several leadership roles ranging from School pupil leader, University chairman to serving as a Director of Indian/South Asian unit at Holly Patterson, a county caring facility for elders. She has received several awards including Woman Entrepreneur Award.
A business woman running an after school education center "Smart Brains Intl", she is the founder President of TNF NY chapter & has served as VP Projects and Secretary on TNF USA board. She currently serves as Director on TNF USA board.

Summer vacation is here, so are the opportunities for our youth

The youth across USA look forward to TNF summer for two reasons: Summer Internship & Summer Essay Contest.
We are currently accepting applications for TNF Service & Education Internships. As part of this program, rising high schoolers get to spend two weeks at an ABC School coaching, teaching and experiencing the schools in Tamil Nadu. They also get an opportunity to do a one week training at Center for Medical Genetics, Kilpauk, Chennai. TAYMAI Grants 2024 Announced!
|
Several TNF Youth from across USA competed to win a grant ranging from $500 - $1500 which they will use to implement a project ideated by them at an ABC School. These youngsters interned at ABC Schools in the past and saw an opportunity to make a difference with an idea that will make the beneficiaries experience better. The Youth & Young Professionals committee invited applications in January 2024. "Each proposal is a winner. Irrespective of the grant awards, we want these ideas implemented to benefit the students in Tamil Nadu", shared a member. Congratulations to all the TAYMAI Grant winners & ideators.

The TNF50 celebration was designed to be an entertaining, fun, and informative event, with a special focus on engaging youth. The goal was to involve young people in paving the way for the next fifty years, and the youth involvement successfully exceeded expectations in this regard. TNF50 was marked by a series of exciting competitions that tested and showcased the diverse skills of youth participants. From strategic thinking to creative expression, every competition highlighted the talent and enthusiasm of the young contestants. Teen raises fund for TNF50 selling delicious cookies
|
Shruti Sathish from San Antonio, TX is one of the many youngsters who were recognized during TNF50 Youth LOVES conference for their efforts using their skills to make a difference under Serve with Skills program.
Shruti, who has a passion to helping the community and has deep apprecation for TNF's work spent more than 60 hours baking 920 delicious cookies, 15 personalized cakes and 30 cheese cakes. She raised $1500 and donated all the proceeds to TNF50 Chicago convention, double than what she raised for TNF48 Convention @ Dallas. Kudos to Shruti for using her skills and passion to make a difference.

ABC Projects - Impact & Success stories
|
As the academic year ended in April and a new year is set to begin across Tamil Nadu in June, we would like to share the impact we have made with all of your support.
- ABC Project is implemented in 98 schools across 29 districts and 62 of these schools are Higher Secondary schools.
- Congratulations to the students of 10 schools have secured 100% results in public 12th grade public examinations, including two Tribal welfare schools in Kollimalai of Namakkal district.
- A total of 5278 out of 5881 students who appeared for exams passed, including 135 ABC students.
- 34 schools secured more than 90% pass rate.
- Congratulations to 10th grade students of 10 schools who secured 100% pass results.
- A total of 6111 out of 718students who appeared passed the exams, including 736 ABC students.
- 34 schools secured more than 90% pass rate.
- We plan to add 5 more schools to our ABC project list when the schools reopen on Jun 10th 2024.

Congratulations to G. Sathish & K. Nishalini from Val Vil Ori Government Tribal Residential Hr Sec School, Vazhavanthinadu for getting selected in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Both the students were part of ABC classes during the year 2018-19. Eight more students from schools supported by TNF Michigan chapter have cleared CLAT exams. Congratulations to all the students!

Congratulations to the following ABC students for excelling in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- S Sivaharish from Government Higher Secondary School, Kuruvikkarambai , Thanjavur District won the 1st prize in 200, 400 & 600 meters running and Championship under below 14 years category. He is heading to State Championship.
- M Valarmathi, a 12th grade student at Government Higher Secondary School, Thirumalapuram, Tenkasi district won 1st prize in English essay writing competition organized by Department of Space, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The school is supported by TNF Washington DC chapter.

National Award winning Teachers Recognized
|
As part of the Rama Ramalingam Education Initiatives Project to recognize the Teachers and Students of Government Schools and Colleges in Tamil Nadu, two teachers who won the National Award were recognized. Tmt. Malathi S, Science Graduate Teacher from Government Higher Secondary School, Veerakeralapudur, Tenkasi District received an award of ₹ 40,000 and Dr T. Godwin Vedanayagam Rajkumar, Physical Education Teacher, Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Alanganallur, Madurai District received an award of ₹ 20,000.

Pittsburgh hosts a music concert
|
TNF Pittsburgh hosted a successful fundraiser music concert featuring playback singer Sai Vignesh, QFR fame Keerthana, and the Sahana band on May 11th. A total of $25,000 was raised to sponsor two ABC schools during the upcoming academic year. VP Of Chapters Dan Palanisamy & Joint Treasurer Prabhakar Santhanakrishnan joined the event and invited the attendees to the TNF50 convention.

Austin celebrates Mother's Day with Sikkil Gurucharan
|
TNF Austin patrons made their Moms proud raising more than $50,000 on May 19th 2024 during a double treat concert by local band Isaithuli followed by Sikkil Gurucharan's Jannal Oram Oru Duet concert. The funds include pledges amounting to $20,000 by individuals offering to adapt ABC schools.
TNF Youth LOVES group did their part raising $260 by selling T-shirts, arts & crafts, teaching chess and auctioning Mother's day gift baskets. Congratulations to all the youngsters who continue to make a difference!
