Dear TNF Family,
I am immensely grateful and deeply humbled to write to you as the newly elected President of the Tamil Nadu Foundation (TNF). Having been a life member for many years and an active member since 2014, I have witnessed TNF’s journey firsthand—its expanding impact, its continued unwavering commitment to service, and its dedication to uplifting the people of Tamil Nadu.
Over the past five decades, TNF has grown into an established and effective philanthropic organization. What began as a small initiative has evolved into a vibrant network with more projects, more chapters, and a significantly larger volume of financial activity. We have grown from our humble beginnings into a dynamic and far-reaching force for good.
I am honored to lead a passionate and talented team, full of energy, inspiring ideas, and a shared vision. Together, we are committed to strengthening TNF’s foundation and preparing it for the future. Our top priority is operational excellence—streamlining and automating our processes to make administration more efficient, transparent, and scalable. This will enable us to do even more: support more students, empower more women, and impact more lives.
We are calling this transformation initiative TNF PRISM—which stands for Propel, Revamp, Innovate, Streamline, and Modernize. Through PRISM, we aim to improve how we operate behind the scenes so our work in the field can shine even brighter.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve in this organization that is devoted to helping those we may never meet. Thank you for your continued support and trust. I look forward to working together as we carry TNF’s mission forward—with purpose, with pride, and with compassion.
Warm regards,
Mani Periakaruppan
President, Tamil Nadu Foundation Inc., USA

ABC baseline assessments begin
|
The first step to a successful year of ABC projects begins with baseline testing — a key tool used to assess students’ grade-level proficiency right at the start of the academic year.
On June 2nd 2025, the opening day of schools, TNF staff and teachers hit the ground running, administering assessments across the state. A dedicated team of 155 TNF teachers — including 10 newly recruited educators — conducted the tests for 12,401 students in Grades 6 to 9, spanning 108 schools across 31 districts.
The evaluation process is now underway. Once the results are reviewed, the final list of students who will be enrolled in the ABC Projects for targeted academic support will be announced soon.

Young author supports TNF!
|
Roshan Soundar is a creative young writer with a vivid imagination and a deep love for fantasy storytelling. His passion for books began early, inspiring him to start crafting his own tales at just ten years old. Now a high school student in Michigan, Roshan continues to write new adventures while balancing school and a variety of activities. Quest for Honor marks his debut novel—an exciting first step on what promises to be a long and rewarding writing journey.
Roshan is donating the proceeds from his book sales to benefit the ABC Schools supported by the TNF Michigan Chapter. We warmly invite you to purchase his book—by doing so, you’ll not only support the education of an underprivileged child but also encourage a young author’s heartfelt contribution to a meaningful cause.
