President's Remarks - Building Tomorrow's TNF!
|
Dear TNF Family,
Vanakkam!
The excitement and energy of our 52nd Annual Convention in Detroit may be behind us, but our work is far from over. Thanks to your incredible generosity and participation, we celebrated a historic convention and took another significant step toward making college dreams a reality for generations of deserving students. While the convention showcased the generosity, commitment, and spirit of the TNF family, it also marked the beginning of our next phase—continuing to strengthen the organization that makes this impact possible.
As we look ahead, TNF PRISM will remain one of our key priorities - our initiative to Propel, Revamp, Innovate, Streamline, and Modernize the way we operate. Our mission remains unchanged—but the way we deliver it must continue to evolve. By streamlining processes, automating routine tasks, and improving transparency and efficiency, we can reduce administrative effort, empower our volunteers, and allow more of our time and resources to be directed where they belong—serving our beneficiaries. Through initiatives such as Salesforce, website modernization, improved donor engagement, digital collaboration tools, and streamlined workflows, we are building a stronger TNF for the future. Technology alone does not transform an organization; people do. PRISM is about equipping our volunteers with better systems so they can spend less time on administration and more time changing lives.
Organizations are remembered not only for the lives they touch today, but also for the systems they build to serve tomorrow. As we carry forward the momentum of Detroit, we remain committed to building a TNF that is transparent in its operations, efficient in its processes, and unwavering in its mission of transforming lives through education and service. Together, let us continue building a TNF that is compassionate in its mission, innovative in its thinking, and prepared to transform lives for generations to come.
With gratitude,
Mani Periakaruppan
President, Tamil Nadu Foundation USA

Empowering women - the success story continues...
|
|
With generous funding support of Rs. 67.62 lakhs from the TNF Chicago Chapter, the Tamil Nadu Foundation (TNF) Chennai Chapter launched a women’s skill development initiative in Cuddalore district. The project aimed to train 270 women in partnership with the Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), offering two industry-relevant courses:
Upon successful completion of the training, trainees were assured of employment opportunities in nearby garment manufacturing units.
The first batch of the Self-Employed Tailoring Course commenced in March 2026, followed by a second batch in April 2026.
The impact of the program was evident even during the training period. Three trainees from the first batch—Fatima, Reszuvina, and Raja Priya—earned approximately Rs. 2,500 each by stitching blouses while undergoing training. Their early success boosted their confidence, inspired fellow trainees, and demonstrated the immediate livelihood potential of the program.
The positive outcomes have generated significant interest in the community, with increasing demand for enrollment not only from Cuddalore district but also from neighboring districts.
Encouraged by the overwhelming response and success of the initiative, the TNF Pittsburgh Chapter has committed approximately Rs. 22.60 lakhs to support a similar tailoring training program for 60 deserving women in Ariyalur district.
The trainees are optimistic that the skills they acquire through this program will help them secure sustainable employment, improve their income, and enhance the quality of life for their families.

Lemonade, Popsicle, and Cookie Sale for Charity - has quickly become the season’s favorite theme!
From designing colorful posters and setting up lemonade stands to spreading the word among friends and making fresh homemade treats, the kids took full ownership of every step. Their teamwork and excitement have been truly inspiring.
Beyond fundraising, what stood out most was their dedication towards the cause. The children proudly shared with the community that the funds would go toward purchasing school bags for underprivileged school children in Tamil Nadu.
While raising funds is an important goal, the TNF Pittsburgh chapter is especially proud to see these young changemakers demonstrate compassion, teamwork, and a spirit of giving. Their efforts reflect the true essence of community service - supporting a cause that extends beyond themselves.
