Nutritional boost for students getting ready for exams
|
As students across Tamilnadu get ready for their annual exams, the nutritional supplement project that we launched earlier this academic year is making a big difference for the beneficiaries, per the reports we receive from the School authorities. In addition to providing the nutritional supplement, the project coordinators monitor the height and weight of the students to assess the impact of the project.
A total of 411 students attending Government Tribal Residential Schools in Kolli Hills and Sengarai of Namakkal district are our recent beneficiaries who get served food items like Channa, Green grams, White Channa, peanuts etc., that gives them the energy needed to attend special classes after School and prepare for upcoming exams.
TNF Chicago chapter joins a plethora of supporters from USA and India sponsoring nutritional supplements for 149 students across three different Government High Schools in Keerapalayam, Sakangudi and Mathuranthaganallur in Cuddalore district.

ABC Project - February 2023 Updates
|
- Low Academic Achievers Coaching Classes The program for the academic year 2022-23 benefitting a total of 5431 students continues to make progress with the project coordinators monitoring, evaluating and working with teachers to use new teaching methodologies. The recent methodology introduced is to screen videos of Thiru Ramanujam Meganathan that are relevant to ABC students. Thiru Ramanujam Meganathan, Professor of English, NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training), New Delhi, provided a virtual training for project coordinators.
- Career Guidance Program/Exposure Visit In-School exposure Visits motivate students to continue their education. The senior faculties of nearby colleges visit Schools to provide orientation on opportunities, disciplines, scholarships available etc., So far, 2594 students from 35 schools in 13 districts have benefitted this year through these visits.
Recently, 142 students studying 10th grade in three different schools in Cuddalore district visited Annamalai University. During the visit, the students learned about job opportunities, and facilities available.
We hope that such visits will help rural students and first generation students pursue higher studies.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award - 2023 registration is open

TNF is a certifying organization to recognize volunteers. More than ten youngsters across three chapters spent hours volunteering in TNF activities and in their local community and qualify to receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
