Chicago kicked off TNF50 celebrations earlier this month with laughter and music. The year long Golden Jubilee celebration will give all of us, an opportunity to look back and celebrate the path we have travelled. While we rejoice the impact we continue to make, we plan to pave the path for next 50 years.
The strength of an organization grows with its membership's growth. During the golden jubilee year, one of our focus areas will be our membership growth and reach out to every well wisher to become a life member. A campaign to help us reach to all prospective members was launched on October 2nd 2023 கை கோர்ப்போம்! கரம் கொடுப்போம்! Let's join hands, Let's lend a hand!. As a reader of this newsletter, I hope you are aware and appreciate the difference TNF makes in Tamil Nadu. If you are not a life member, please consider joining hands with us. If you are a life member, please help us spread the word. Please visit the Golden Jubilee Membership page for details!
In addition to becoming a member, I request your support at the local chapter level more than before. TNF chapters across the country continue to host events and fund raisers through out the year. These events will gain more prominence in your city as part of Golden Jubilee celebrations. I request you to attend these events with your family, invite your friends and help create awareness about an organization you are proud to be part of.
The Golden Jubilee celebrations will culminate with our 50th Annual convention at Chicago during the Memorial Day week end 2024. Please block your calendars and stay tuned for more details. The convention committee is planning to bring a once-in-a-lifetime line-up of programs such as Symphony Orchestra, Classical Instruments & Musical show, celebration of the origin of Tamil folk art & dances and local talents from chapters. It takes a village to manage such an undertaking. If you have a passion to be part of any of the performances or have the leadership it takes to coordinate one of the programs, please email to chicago@tnfusa.org
It is your support that keeps the board members, chapter committees and numerous volunteers going. Thank you for being with us to enable the impact we all continue to make.
Looking forward to seeing you in-person at Chicago in May 2024. Let's Go Chicago!
Thank you all.

Seetha Krishnan has served in the board since 2016, as General Director, VP Membership, and Communication and Technology Director. Throughout her tenure, she has played a crucial role in modernizing the TNFUSA website, making significant improvements to its functionality and design. She created individualized websites for all 26 chapters, ensuring that each chapter had its distinct online presence. With the collective efforts of board members and volunteers, she spearheaded the development of dedicated Mannvasanai pages for every district in Tamil Nadu, significantly amplifying TNF's outreach and influence at the grassroots level.
|
|
|
Ms. Krishnan also integrated a Google Drive interface into each district and chapter's photo gallery pages, facilitating the real-time display of photos and videos, which allowed for immediate updates to be shared with the community. As the technology support lead for six annual conventions since 2016, she ensured that these events ran smoothly from a technological standpoint, contributing to their overall success. In her role as VP Membership, she implemented a self-service membership portal, empowering members to access and update their information and enhanced member engagement.

TNF helps students plan their future
|
|
Exposure to options available for further studies are crucial to students especially in 10th and 12th grade. Soon after their exam results are announced, they would have to make decisions that will lay the path to their future. TNF provides an opportunity to these students in ABC schools to visit college campuses closer to their school. In this academic year, a total of 535 students from 8 schools in 5 districts have been on these visits so far.
For students from rural areas, this opportunity turns out to be an eye opener as they feel WOW ed as they stroll through the various departments in the colleges. Many students who are not sure about pursuing college education get motivated to change their minds as a result of these visits. Students from other ABC schools will be going on their visits in the coming months.
Soft skills Training
Two days of training covering topics such as time management, learning how to focus, confidence building in addition tips on preparing well for upcoming public exams are offered as part of TNF's soft skills training to ABC students. A total 5706 students from 75 schools in 26 districts have received the training this year as they prepare for public exams.
The feedback from headmasters show that many students who go through this training begin thinking about their long term goals. We are glad to continue making a positive impact on these young minds.
