Digital Classroom Pilot Project

Tamilnadu Foundation has launched Smart Classroom Pilot Project at Vadasidhur Govt. Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore on July 24th, 2019 in four classrooms. The purpose of this project is to improve the overall quality of education offered on Tamilnadu Government high schools. We chose to implement a Smart classroom using “Teacher aided” model.

Here are some key highlights of this program:

Program targets

  •  The program will be compliant with Tamil Nadu “Samacheer Kalvi” program.  
  • The program has the content from Pre KG to 12th standard. 

Digital Classroom implementation team is responsible for keeping the content up to date for

  •  current  syllabus by closely working / aligning with the content provider Next Education
  • Teachers will have the ability to upload content provided by TN Government.

Tools

  • The program has the feature to build Questions for the exams(Midterm, etc) via the built-in question bank system, it also has the option for teachers to add or create their own questions.
  • The program has the tools required for showing the students what they are learning visually. Example: abacus, labs for the chemical experiments, multiplication tables, etc.

Support & Training

  • Teacher training is provided on a quarterly basis to ensure teachers are well trained to utilize the tools provided to them
  • Centralized Call center to support the teachers if they need 
  • Whatsapp group to share “best practices” and “tips”

Usage Metrics to enhance the program

  • Usage metrics are available for a) school administrators and b) TNF executive team
  • The program tracks the usage of content by the teacher, by classroom.

  • 3D animation
  • Stop Motion
  • Papercraft animation
  • Real-life videos
  • Hands on experiments
  • Interactive assessments
  • Interactive simulations
