Eligibility:
- For upcoming grade school children
- 3 tiers – Upcoming Elementary, Middle, and High school
- Tier will be based on your upcoming grade – grade you will attend after summer break (for example, if you just finished 8th grade and are heading to 9th, you will be put in the high school pool)
- No submission fee
Format:
- Double spaced, any legible font (nothing fancy please)
- Word Count
- Upcoming elementary schoolers: 250-500 words
- Upcoming middle schoolers: max of around 500
- Upcoming high schoolers: max of around 650
- Can go over but not by too much (use your best logic and common sense)
Prompts
- All essays should be relevant to giving back to the community – does not have to be about TNF (Essays can cover more than one prompt, when submitting choose the one most fitting):
- Importance of staying connected to your root
- How to become a role model
- Service, the impact it has on both the ones receiving and giving it
- Describe a direct experience with TNF and its effects on you and others
Prizes: 1st- $100, 2nd – $50, 3rd – $25 for each tier

Submissions will close August 31st, prizes awarded max 2 weeks later (September 17th). Submissions: email yyp@tnfusa.org with these details:

- Essay attached in a word or pdf format
