Kanchipuram District

Kanchipuram district is located in the north eastern coast of Tamil Nadu. The region has the history of having been reigned by the invincible Cholas, the powerful Pallavas and the great Vijayanagara dynasty.

Rich Tamil cultural heritage is evident in every fiber of this district and the district headquarters is aptly known as the temple town. There are over 200 magnificent temples in the area and the unique architectural designs in Varadharaja Perumal and Ekamabaranadhar temples are a delight to pilgrims. Kanchipuram district is also famous for its impeccable silk sarees also known as Kanchi Pattu that are world renowned for their intricate beauty and artisanship.

Despite the rich cultural heritage, and despite being quite close to the state capital city of Chennai, Kanchipuram district can’t boast of high levels of literacy or economic achievements today. Unemployment and underemployment are rampant, and poverty levels are very depressing.

Is there a solution for this? Yes, there is. Education is the answer. When underprivileged children gain access to good education at the right age, it opens the door for better lives for themselves, for their families, and for the future generations. And – YOU can be part of the solution! Each and every one of us can be part of this solution. TNF’s “Mann Vasanai” project is a great way for all of us to be the patrons for the deserving children of Kanchipuram.

You may hail from this district, you may have some other special connection to this district, or not, you still can make a difference to the lives of thousands of underprivileged children with access to good education. Little drops of water make a mighty ocean. When we join hands for this noble cause, it can lead to nothing but greatness.

Will you be part of it?

Can you extend your helping hands to the Mann Vasanai program?
