President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)

President’s Volunteer Service Award – a Gold/Silver or Bronze medal with Certificate signed by the President of the United States – is to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the world and inspires those around them to take action.

Tamil Nadu Foundation is a certified organization to manage and recommend Awards to its volunteers.

Requirement

  • Parents of the applicants must be current Life Members of TNF OR willing to apply for Life Membership along with Youth Volunteer registration. For applicants above 18 years of age, they have to be Life Members OR willing to apply for Life membership.
  • Should be based in the US.
  • Can serve anywhere in the world.
  • Volunteers should be US Citizens or Green card holders
  • Only Volunteering hours are eligible (not $ donated)

Process

  • Adult Volunteers in each Chapter will be the Program Administrator. Interested Chapter Adult volunteer please reach out to youthdirector@tnfusa.org
  • Youth volunteers aspiring to collect hours against the program have to register at the form below before starting to volunteer hours. Past hours will not be counted. 
  • Administrator should approve the volunteering activity before the service is performed.
  • Volunteer Hours should be recorded on a weekly basis and have to be approved by the Program Administrator. Use this form to enter hours.
  • If you are not associated with any chapter, please reach out to youthdirector@tnfusa.org
  • The program is administered every calendar year — starting in January and ending in December of every year. The medals and Certificate will be awarded during the TNF Convention in May of every year.

Award Requirement and Categories

  • 50% of the minimum required service hours in your age group should be earned in a TNF activity or an activity that promotes the cause of TNF.
  • We encourage volunteers to believe in and serve for TNF’s cause.
  • All activities not facilitated by Youth LOVES coordinators should receive prior approval by emailing to youthdirector@tnfusa.org or contacting your local chapter’s youth coordinator.
  • TNF’s board members and youth coordinators reserve the right to evaluate the activity’s eligibility per PVSA requirements and TNF’s beliefs/guidelines.
